Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC)

The New Generation Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (NewGen IEDC) is the programme launched by National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), the Department of Science and Technology (DST), and the Government of India. NewGen IEDC will aim to inculcate the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship amongst the young S&T students and encourage and support start-up creation through guidance, mentorship, and support. The programme will be implemented in academic institutions. Students will be encouraged to take up innovative projects with the possibility of commercialization.

Objective of IEDC

To promote an innovation driven entrepreneurship culture among the students
To develop and promote commercially viable innovative product and solution from the students
To promote enterprise among budding entrepreneurs and thereby creating more employment opportunities
To bridge the gap between industry and academia
To support the budding entrepreneurs through grants and to create an entrepreneurship flavor in the academic fraternity

Importance of IEDC in Majlis Polytechnic

To initiate five innovative student projects each year for new innovative product development.
To organize Business Plan Competitions every year.
To guide and assist prospective entrepreneurs on various aspects such as preparing project reports, obtaining project approvals, loans and facilities from agencies of support systems, information on technologies, etc.
To arrange interaction with entrepreneurs and create a mentorship scheme for student entrepreneurs.
